Ikue Hirata was born in 1988 in Japan. She received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2010, 2012, and 2015, respectively. Her Ph.D. thesis title is “Control of threshold voltages of organic thin-ﬁlm transistors by self-assembled monolayers and their structural analysis.”
In 2015, she joined the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) Centre for Nano Science and Technology, Milan, Italy.
